SHASTA WILDLIFE AREA
Rich Nidveer first told me about the Shasta Wildlife Area in the northern Shasta Valley just east of Montague. The SWA has the best public access to many cairns, stone lines, ground patterns and Decorated Mima Mounds in the Valley. Twenty five miles north of Mt. Shasta.
EQUINOX POINT (STEAMBOAT MT.):
Equinox Point is a name given here for an unnamed cairn. The amount of stone in the cairn is in the hundreds of tons at least. Containing numerous split wedge rocks, colorful artificial coatings, holes and more including a shallow cave. Much of it is on a steep grade.
